This session, members of the Democratic caucus brought bills to raise the minimum wage, improve our current early childhood education, expand Medicaid for 17,600 of Wyoming's working poor, give in-state tuition to veterans, fair employment for people with disabilities and others. Even though many of the bills did not receive the votes needed to pass, the people of Wyoming got a chance to see which political party is on the side of the people - the Wyoming Democratic Party.

Earlier this week, the son of Lynn Simons, former Superintendent of Public Schools, died at the age of 52. Former Secretary of State Kathy Karpan issued the following statement on behalf of the Wyoming Democratic Party: "The Wyoming Democratic Party extends its heartfelt condolences to Lynn and John Simons on the death of their son Clay, who died on June 23, 2014 of thyroid cancer at the University of Colorado in Aurora. They are in our thoughts and prayers."
