FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Joe M Barbuto, Chairman of the Wyoming Democratic Party (WDP)
Cheyenne, WY - The Wyoming Democratic Party has announced that Aimee Van Cleave will be stepping down from her position as the Party’s Executive Director. For the past two and a half years Van Cleave, a Laramie native, has served as Executive Director. With political experience that belies her age, Van Cleave, from 22 to 24, served as the youngest Executive Director of a statewide political party in the United States.
Of her departure, Van Cleave issued the following statement-:
“It has been a pleasure working with the Wyoming Democratic Party. One of the highlights of my career has been seeing the energy that we can draw up in this state when we put our minds to it and work together for our collective progressive values. Certainly I will always be proud of our candidate recruitment in 2016, an effort that pushed Wyoming into the national spotlight for our number of contested races last year. I believe the Wyoming Democratic Party has grown in exceptionally positive ways over my time there and is poised to continue that growth. I wish this organization the utmost success over the coming years.”
Chair Joe M Barbuto had the following to say regarding the staff change:
“Aimee brought a tremendous amount of energy, knowledge and passion to the position. Thanks to her dedicated service, we're in a much better position as a party going into the next election cycle than we have been for some time. Needless to say, it will be a difficult task to fill her shoes. On behalf of the party, I wish her much success in new adventures and sincere gratitude for her service to the Wyoming Democratic Party.”
